All the above rates are for a maximum of sixteen guests + an infant in a cot (crib) and include: weekly maid service, pool maintenance, air conditioning/heating, all linen/towels (including pool towels) and a welcome pack. A 25% deposit is required at time of booking with the balance payable 6 weeks before occupation.

Main House - faces south/ south-west and gets sun all day long from sun-up to sun-down, with fabulous country and sea views.


The main house accommodation comprises of 4 air-conditioned (with heating in the winter) bedrooms all with en-suite walk-in showers. The downstairs bedroom has twin beds & an ensuite bathroom with a bath as well as a walk-in shower, this bedroom has direct access to the pool area. The upstairs bedroom facing the pool has a Queen bed, the other two bedrooms have twin beds which can be pulled together as desired. These 3 upstairs bedrooms all have ensuite walk-in type shower-rooms; all bathrooms/shower-rooms also benefit from underfloor heating.


The vaulted living room is bright & airy and has a wall of folding doors which opens the room out to the front patio & garden/pool areas. There is ample seating in the lounge and on the front terrace - here there are fabulous views towards the coast and North Africa ... a perfect place for a sundowner with friends and family. The lounge has a fireplace for those cool winter evenings; situated in the lounge is a Plasma TV, Surround sound system, SKY satellite (full pack with sports & movies), DVD player, an extensive film & music library. Villa Bancales also features a WiFi wireless internet connection (please bring your own laptop, no extra costs involved).


There is a 40' long combined kitchen/dining room with large dining table and separate central granite island unit. The new modern kitchen is fully equipped with a large double fridge with ice-maker & a filtered water dispenser, 5 ring gas hob, 2 electric ovens, large drum dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, juicer etc. There is a separate utility room complete with washing machine and dryer, ironing board & iron. Leading from the kitchen/dining room is large shaded terrace with a built-in Andalucian style BBQ and dining table with seating for 16 ... this terrace has views to the mountains in the west and the sunsets.

Guest House - is situated about 20 metres from the main house, and is a standalone two storey 1100 sq ft house offering complete privacy for a separate family or group of guests in a large party. On the ground floor there are three ensuite bedrooms (2 with walk-in showers, 1 with combined bath and shower ... all with underfloor heating). All these rooms have separate entrances through large folding doors which open onto patios or terraces with views to the S/SW/West. These three bedrooms have twin beds which can be joined together as desired, all benefit from air-conditioning & heating in the winter.


On the first floor there is an air-conditioned spacious 500 sq ft one bedroom apartment which has an open plan living/dining/ kitchen area and a large external private terrace which faces south. The lounge is equipped with a TV, SKY satellite system (free to view basic pack), DVD player & a cd/radio. There is a separate air-conditioned bedroom which has a Queen size bed and an ensuite walk-in type shower-room with wc & basin - the shower-room also has underfloor heating. The living space serves the needs of all guests in the guesthouse (or gives the children in a large family group a separate TV/dining area) with its own seating. The fully equipped kitchen includes an oven with hobs (stove top), microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine etc.

Relax in the Jacuzzi and soak up the views of the Mediterranean

Laze the day away soaking up the sun around your own private pool ... you also have a Jacuzzi which is situated just above the pool and is large enough for six people ... how perfect is that! Sun loungers, parasol etc are all provided for your use.


PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to have the Jacuzzi heated you must book pool heating on the reservation form - the cost is £150 per week.

Villa Bancales is accessed via a private driveway with electric security gates, it is completely secluded by high cypress and pine trees. There are extensive mature gardens with a large range of rare tropical plants and shrubs which have night time soft lighting. The main house has direct access across the lawn to the large heated infinity pool, pool house with seating and adjacent shower, and 6 person heated Jacuzzi. Ample sunbeds, parasols etc are provided.


The entire pool area is secluded and has fabulous views in all directions to mountain and sea. Paths lead down to the lower gardens where there are further seating areas, and a selection of lemon, orange & pomegranate trees. Once again this level is completely private with great views and provides many places for members of a large party to find their own corner to take in the views and relax. Due to its location Bancales benefits from a range of wildlife including peacocks in the grounds, and conveys a great quality of peace and tranquillity.

Overlooking the pool & gardens is a lovely shaded terrace which is stylishly furnished with rattan sofas & armchairs ... a perfect place to relax on a balmy summer evening sharing a glass of Rioja with your friends and family whilst cooking the 'gambas' on the bbq. Or perhaps you might prefer to read a book or just simply day-dream of your next visit to Villa Bancales!

Venture just a little way inland to uncover the delights of the 'Real Spain' with breathtaking mountain views, unspoilt white villages nestled in rolling mountains and many 'Ventas' - the typical Spanish restaurant. One of my favourites is Venta Morenos, just 10 minutes by car on the Coin road. It's great for Sunday lunch - very cheap, very Spanish, very noisy - why not give it a try! ... see my restaurant guide.

They call this the Costa del Golf and with nearly 60 golf courses in Andalucia, including more than 30 on the Costa del Sol, it's easy to see why! With year round sun the Costa del Sol is perfect for your golfing vacation; and Mijas is ideally situated for these many championship courses.
