Guangqian Street 观前街
Guanqian Street has long been recognized as the commercial center of Suzhou. Since the Qing Dynasty. all sorts of shops of brands, dozens of department stores gather here, turning it into a resort for native people at night and on the weekends. In year 1999, Suzhou Municipal Government reconstructed this famous street, which infused this ancient street with fresh blood. The present Guanqian Street remains the original style expect that it is more prosperous.

Besides modern industrial products, curios and art crafts are also available in some craftwork stores in the Shiquan Street. Stepping into these shops, you will find the shops themselves are also great crafts. From embroidery to pottery, most ancient Chinese articles can be found in these specialty shops.
Suzhou Shopping Center, established in September 1990, is a large state-owned detail enterprise under the charge of Suzhou Wujiao Group.

Shiquan Street
Shiquan Street is located in hotel area in ancient downtown of Suzhou,famous Nanlin Restaurant,Suzhou Restaurant ,Nanlin Hotel as well as the classical garden of The Master-of-Nets Garden are on this street.As tourism of Suzhou booming and old streets being reconstructed ,the rebuilt Shiquan Street looks brand-new.

Suzhou Renming Department Store

It is the largest department store in  Suzhou , has a history of 63 years. Its new building was built in 1996, with a serving area of over 15,000m2 . Currently it has over 2,000 employees. The building, enclosed with Dining hall and entertaining park, is delicately decorated and sells products of middles and high classes. Shilu Pedestrianized Shopping Street
Shilu Pedestrianized Shopping Street is located in Jinchang District,it is named after “Stone Road?in English as it was paved with stones in late Qing Dynasty.It is said it had already been very prosperous in ancient time.Since late 2003,Suzhou Municiapal Government has injected a huge amount of capital to reconstruct the street,aiming to forge it one of the best shopping centers in Jiangsu Province and top-ranking in China by integrating its modern image with ancient culture of Suzhou.The project was completed by the end of 2003 and open to public on New Year's Day of 2004.

The renewed street is sprinkled with large-sized musical fountains,towering trees,beautiful neon lights and clean rivers. The commercial arrangement of Shilu pedestrianized shopping street has a new adjustment as well. Xinfeng Lane is to be restored and become a special street with cafes and pubs. Stores in the street are busy with decoration now. People can enjoy the leisure life there after doing shopping. The formal opening of Shilu pedestrianized shopping street also stimulate consumers' popular enthusiasm on the market at night in the Shilu commercial area. The business time of the stores on Shi Road is prolonged to 10 o'clock pm .

It is becoming a beautiful scenery for home and foreign travelers at the time of acting as a shopping center.
